I saw a shot that Gary Perweiler had done with a glass balanced on an ice cube. I took this idea and added my own twist:
I love backlighting glass. This one in particular was difficult as I wanted to keep the bottom of the glass dark while having a “glow” for the liquor and the cubes.
Like Gary, and Bert Stern before him, my style is more minimalist in style. It is the simple shot that gives me the most pleasure in viewing.
