Dissonance

So sometimes things get a little weird around the studio here.

For years I’ve belonged to a website called Dyxum, which started as a community for Minolta SLR camera users, then morphed to Konica-Minolta (when I joined), and now to Sony for their A and E mount cameras. They hold monthly contests, and I entered (and won Honorable Mention) for this small product photography entry:

Their contest this month was on “Dissonance.”

I’ve been in a photographic rut lately – the doldrums of summer? – and wanted to do something different, so I forced myself to enter this month’s contest too. I did struggle with the topic, and for some reason thought of this image:

It might be a little too much photoshop for them (although the silverware was all shot as a group), but at least it got me shooting something different.
