A studio dance session featuring Addie, some pointe shoes, and a whole lotta talent.
We shot this with a single light mounted in a parabolic umbrella. This modifier is unique in that it is a fairly large light source, yielding soft yet punchy light. While it wraps well, it is directional, allowing a contrasty, dramatic look. Spill turned our white background a soft grey, which I colorized in post production.
I liked the play of the blue cast with her blonde hair.
Addie is fabulously flexible, with great body control – the allure of the dancer – as show here (sans pointe shoes):
Same colorization, different lighting. This time we added a gridded strobe to the parabolic (changing the para’s position) to add a highlight, emphasizing her abs.
Cool looks for cool dance poses.
