Crypt-ic

or more conceptual madness.

I was forced to watched the first 3 episodes of the Twilight saga, and left with the idea for producing this image:

These pieces featuring pointe dancers have really become an integral part of my work, and I enjoy doing them. I realize I am drifting slightly away from straight photography, which I also enjoy, but in the end it’s the image that counts, isn’t it? I like the ability to create whatever my post processing skills can muster, and present my subject in more interesting ways.

The crypt is from St. Mary Magdalene, a Norman era church in Taunton, Somerset, England. The dancer was shot in studio.

I wanted an eerie feeling, with the dancer as multiple ghost images. The look and feel of the image was inspired by the movie(s).
